How hard is it to get music clearance for a documentary film you’re making?

I have a total of 25 songs that I’d like to feature in a documentary I made, but I know I have to get permission to play these songs in the movie. How expensive and how hard/easy is it to get the rights? Any direction you can point me in would be very helpful plus you might get 10 pts.

I don’t know about getting clearance for the songs you want, but if you check out the creative commons (CC), there are a tons of songs you are allowed to use without asking permission, with a few rules to follow of course.
