They should be listed in your telephone book under government services. You could also check with the state unemployment office if you can't find something in the telephone book. I believe some states have training programs for which they will pay if you are out of work. That may not be something you will need but the food stamps and SSI are fairly easy to qualify I would think, especially when children are involved.
