Prescription drugs seem to keep sky rocketing with no end in sight.  Here are a few tips to keep in mind to help with your medicine bills.

Brand name drugs usually are more expensive than their generic equivalents.  Ask your physician and pharmacist if a less expensive generic or an over the counter alternative is available.

Pharmacies may charge different prices for the same medicine, so call several local pharmacies. When taking a drug for a long time, 30 to 90 days or more, calling mail-order pharmacies may lower your bill even more because they often  charge lower prices.

Many drugs come in different dosages, 50 mg, 75 mg, 100 mg…  Ask your physician and pharmacist if it is ok and safe to order a higher dosage and split the medicine dosage into two smaller doses. For example, if  you are suppose to take 50 mg and the medicine is available in a 100 mg dose, you may be able to break the higher dosage into two 50 mg units.  Many times the 30 day supply of 50 mg and 100 mg may end up costing you the same. Be sure to check your copays on your prescription drug plan if you have one.

LCD monitors are one of the fastest growing products among consumers’ in the computer market. They are becoming far more popular than CRT monitors and are relatively comparable in price nowadays.

Cheap LCD monitors are available for just a couple of hundred dollars, and although you may prefer to buy a model with more features, bigger display, and better resolution, you can still find some excellent flat screen computer monitors at rock-bottom prices. When LCD monitors first entered the computer market they were understandably more expensive than CRT monitors. The technology was new and companies could charge more to consumers for the privilege of having a flat panel PC monitor. Nowadays, the demand for these types of monitor and the number of manufacturers producing bigger and better models has driven down the prices.

LCD monitors are very slim, stylish, have excellent picture and color quality, and can fit into any room. Whereas CRT monitors are rather bulky, LCD monitors are much more compact. However, when comparing an LCD monitor to a CRT you should be aware that they aren’t measured in the same way. For instance, a 19″ CRT display is more like a 17 inch LCD display.

Some cheap LCD monitors may be priced due to dead pixels. Flat screen monitors are prone to having a few dots on the screen and retailers will often sell them at a discount. Whereas many people will not want to buy a monitor with dead pixels, depending on where the dots are on the screen, it can actually be a good way to buy a cheap computer monitor at a fraction of the original price.

Another advantage of a LCD monitor over a CRT is that they use less than half the power. Furthermore, for a better image display they have a full color active matrix TFT (Thin Film Transistors). If you want to spend a little extra you can even buy a monitor with touch screen capability.

Some cheap LCD monitors can be wall-mounted so that you can keep your desk completely clear. Even if it doesn’t, they are slim and stylish enough to fit into any room on a desk or side table.

Go to here for some advice on which are best and for more general information on LCD computer monitors.

With gas prices, housing costs, and many other important things on the rise, it is even more important to live frugally. Frugal living is not just something that you can do from time to time; it is a change in the way you live your life. Many people struggle to make ends meet and pay their bills. Many of these people are living an extravagant lifestyle that they can not afford. If they would try to live a more frugal life, then they would probably be able to get their finances under control. Here are a few ways that you can live a frugal life.

I believe that one of the number one reasons people get into debt is they allow themselves to make too many impulse purchases. Make sure that you only buy things that are a necessity. If something is not necessary, then you need to start a fund and save up money to make that purchase. One of the worst things that a person can do is run up large credit card bills, because the interest will get you deeper into debt before you know it.

Another very important thing that people can do to live a frugal life is to not dine out very often. It is much cheaper to cook at home, than it is to eat out at a restaurant. If you do not eat out very often then you can save hundreds of dollars every month. Eating out less often is also better for your health, which can save you money on medical bills in the long run. Also when you do decide to dine out, make sure that you drink water, because any other drink at a restaurant is outrageously overpriced.

The final tip for living a frugal life is to try to save up enough money to buy your car or your house without financing it. You will pay almost double the cost of a new car or a house in interest if you have to finance the cost. It is very hard to save up this type of money, but if you are watching your spending elsewhere, and you work hard to save the money, then it should be an attainable goal.

Experiencing the sights and sounds of Disney World is a dream come true for kids and adults alike. But the costs to travel there are the first obstacle you have to overcome to still have a chance of enjoying a frugal Disney World vacation. You don’t have to let your plans to save money get sidelined, though. Use these 3 ideas to save money on traveling to Disney World by following the tips below.

1) Go during the off season

Prices drop considerably in the fall. You can save 50% or more on flights, and the villas and vacation homes in Orlando can be rented for a much cheaper cost.

You can sign up with newsletters and look in newspapers for frugal Disney World flight discounts and deals. But don’t fly during the weekends if you have to pay surcharges.

And you might want to think about skipping the flight food and bring your own instead — you’ll probably like what you have better anyway.

2) Make airport parking plans ahead of time

You’ll want to book airport parking for your car before your travel date, because paying for it on that date will be more expensive.

Check to see if your airport hotel offers holiday parking with a pre-flight deal for you to stay the night before too, if you wish to do so.

Your car insurance or roadside assistance service may help with your frugal Disney World travel plans and have special offers on airport parking that you can take advantage of.

If you’re taking a cab or minivan, book that ahead of time as well. And don’t forget to negotiate a deal for you to be picked up when you come back.

3) Get a car rental discount

To aid in your frugal Disney World travels, you can look for discounts in several places if you plan on renting a car during your stay in Orlando. Look for corporate discounts from companies. Also ask about discounts for major national organization, credit card program or frequent flyer program members.

Some car rental agencies have affiliations with hotels too, and you may be able to get a discounted room if you can’t get a decreased rate on your car. If you use the car rental agency a lot, they may give you discounts and free upgrades too.

If you want to try saving on car insurance, look to see if your car insurance agency will cover the car rental fees before paying the car rental agency’s insurance.

Also make sure to reserve you car at the weekly rate: the daily or hourly rates are higher. And return the car on time to avoid additional fees.

And, if you can, avoid renting your car at the airport: you don’t want to damage your frugal Disney World plan by paying surcharges when you can avoid them by renting in town instead.

Would you rather spend $5,500 or $2,700 on your entire Disney World family vacation, or would you rather spend only $2,700? Find out how to have a frugal Disney World vacation that’ll shave hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars off your entire vacation expense by visiting http://www.DWDiscount.com where you’ll get a former Disney World employee’s tips to save money on food, tickets, hotel accommodations, rides, and more.

First of all CFL stands for Compact Fluorescent Light. There are many different types of CFL lightbulbs. To save more, here are a few purchasing tips to help you buy the right CFLs for your home.

Place ENERGY STAR qualified CFLs in the fixtures you use most frequently. CFLs are most efficient when they operate for several hours at a time (2 hours or more).

Certain CFLs are designed to work in dimmable, 3-way fixtures, as well as torchieres. Check the package to be sure you are buying the correct bulb.

Use ENERGY STAR qualified CFLs in the fixtures that are hard to reach such as ceiling fans, other ceiling fixtures, and enclosed outdoor fixtures. Because CFLs last longer, you enjoy the convenience of buying and changing bulbs less frequently.

ENERGY STAR qualified CFLs come in a multitude of shapes and sizes. Select the best shape and size to fit your needs:

Bare, Mini-spirals, Spirals

Bare, Double, Triple, and Quadruple tubes

Circle-line

Covered A-line

Covered Globe

Covered Bullet or Torpedo

Smaller sizes mean greater compatibility with your fixtures. Today’s ENERGY STAR qualified CFLs are designed to be smaller and thinner than earlier models, so you can install them in a wider variety of fixtures, such as wall sconces, ceiling-mounted fixtures, and ceiling fans.

Qualified CFLs are available in a range of color temperatures:

Warm, white light: Look for a color temperature of 2,700–3,000K.

Cooler, white light: Look for a color temperature of 4,500–6,000K.

You should also check the lumen rating to find the right CFL. The higher the lumen rating, the greater the light output. Consult the following chart to determine what CFL wattage is best to replace your incandescent light bulb:

If you are like me you love your daily sodas. Sodas taste so good but they can lead to higher dental bills.

Most popular sodas contain phosphoric or citric acid which are two corrosive ingredients that cause dental erosion.

To cut down on dental erosion caused by these two ingredients try only drinking sodas with meals or drinking with a straw.
